1. Introduction

Welcome to VRL.

VRL (“VRL,” the “App,” or the “Service”) is a mobile application developed and operated by an independent individual developer (the “Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

VRL allows users to create and export videos with visual effects, including animated reaction overlays, custom avatar overlays, and decorative screen effects.

We respect your privacy and aim to minimize the personal information processed when you use VRL.

This Privacy Policy explains what information VRL accesses, how that information is processed, what information may be collected when you visit our website or contact us, and what choices and rights you have.

This Privacy Policy applies to the VRL iOS application and the website at https://vrlapp.com.

2. Information Processed by the App

2.1 Videos and Media Files

VRL allows you to select videos from your device for editing.

When you import a video:

• The selected video is processed locally on your device.
• VRL may create temporary local copies to perform editing and export operations.
• Your original video remains under your control.
• Your videos are not uploaded to VRL-operated servers.
• We do not remotely access, view, analyze, or store your video content.

Temporary files may remain in the application’s local storage until they are removed by the App, the operating system, or deletion of the App.

2.2 Custom Avatars and Images

VRL allows you to import images for use as custom avatar overlays.

These images are stored locally in the application’s storage on your device so they can remain available between sessions.

Custom avatars are not uploaded to VRL-operated servers.

You can remove saved custom avatars using the deletion controls provided in the App.

Deleting a custom avatar from VRL does not delete the original image from your Photos library.

2.3 Exported Videos

VRL processes and exports edited videos locally on your device.

With the appropriate permission, VRL can save exported videos to your device’s Photos library.

Saved videos are managed by Apple’s Photos application and your device settings.

If you use iCloud Photos or another synchronization or backup service, saved media may be synchronized according to the settings and privacy policies of those services.

VRL does not control those external services.

2.4 Local Preferences

VRL uses local device storage, including UserDefaults, to remember application preferences and onboarding completion.

This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to VRL-operated servers.

3. Information We Do Not Collect Through the App

In the current version of VRL:

• We do not require account registration or login.
• We do not collect your email address through the App.
• We do not collect account passwords.
• We do not operate a user account database.
• We do not upload your imported videos or custom avatars to our servers.
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
• We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
• We do not track your activity across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising purposes.
• We do not sell personal information.

The App may generate local diagnostic messages for development or troubleshooting. VRL does not operate a remote analytics service that receives these messages.

Information handled independently by Apple, your device, or services you choose to use is subject to those providers’ applicable policies.

4. Device Permissions

4.1 Photo Library Access

VRL uses Apple’s system media picker to let you select videos and images.

The system picker allows you to choose specific media without granting VRL unrestricted access to your entire photo library.

VRL may request permission to add exported videos to your Photos library.

You can manage applicable permissions through your device’s Settings.

4.2 Other Permissions

The current version of VRL does not require access to your location, microphone, camera, contacts, or advertising identifier for its core video-editing functionality.

5. Website Information

When you visit https://vrlapp.com, certain technical information may be processed by our hosting and infrastructure providers to deliver the website, maintain security, and prevent abuse.

Depending on the provider’s configuration, this information may include:

• IP address
• Browser type and version
• Device and operating system information
• Requested pages and timestamps
• Network and security-related request information

Our website is intended to provide information about VRL, its legal policies, and support options.

The website may use essential technical mechanisms required for secure delivery and operation.

The VRL website is intended to be hosted using Cloudflare hosting, provided by Cloudflare.

Cloudflare may process technical request information in connection with website delivery, security, and infrastructure operations.

6. Support Communications

If you contact us at support@vrlapp.com, we may receive and process:

• Your name, if you provide it

• Any attachments or technical information you voluntarily send

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or private media unless necessary for your support request.

Support communications may be processed by the email service provider used to operate our support mailbox.

9. Data Retention

9.1 Information Stored on Your Device

Imported videos, temporary editing files, custom avatars, and local preferences may remain in the App’s local storage until removed through App functionality, operating-system cleanup, or App deletion.

Some temporary files may persist beyond the completion of an editing session.

Deleting VRL generally removes its app-specific local data, subject to operating-system behavior and any backups maintained separately.

Videos already saved to your Photos library are not automatically deleted when VRL is uninstalled.

9.2 Support Messages

We retain support communications only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to requests, resolve issues, maintain appropriate records, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

9.3 Website Technical Information

Website infrastructure providers may retain technical request information according to their applicable retention practices and service configurations.

We do not currently specify a universal retention period for all such infrastructure records because retention may vary by provider and data category.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of VRL to minimize unnecessary data processing.

The App’s core media editing takes place locally on your device, reducing the need to transmit personal media over the internet.

However, no device, storage system, or online communication method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security settings on your device and for choosing what information to send through support communications.

11. International Data Processing

Our website infrastructure and email service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, such transfers will be handled in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

• Request access to personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Request deletion of personal information.

Because VRL does not operate user accounts or upload your personal media to its servers, we generally cannot remotely access or delete media stored solely on your device.

You can manage saved custom avatars within the App and remove app-specific local data by deleting the App.

We may request information reasonably necessary to verify and process your request.

13. Children’s Privacy

VRL is not designed to collect personal information from children.

The App does not require user accounts and does not intentionally collect personal information from children through its core functionality.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support communication or another channel, please contact support@vrlapp.com so we can review the matter and take appropriate action.

14. Third-Party Services

VRL operates within Apple’s iOS ecosystem.

Apple’s services, including the App Store, Photos, and optional iCloud synchronization, are subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.

Our website infrastructure may be provided by Cloudflare, and our support email may be handled by an external email provider.

We are not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party services that you choose to use.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in VRL, legal requirements, or our data-processing practices.
